NADINE BOMMER
About the author
Born in New York, Nadine Bommer is a creator, choreographer, artistic director and developer of the Animato dance art language. At the age of 4, she immigrated to Israel with her family. Even as a 7-year-old girl, Nadine’s first steps were seen in the world of dance and creation, when she convinced the neighborhood children to participate in a show she created and directed at her living room for the family and neighbors. Even before the age of 11, she created dances for the school’s “Peace Day” show and the success of this show earned her a scholarship from the Rishon Lezion Municipality. The teachers who noticed her special talent gave her responsibilities for other events. At the age of 12, Nadine returned with her mother to New York and was accepted to the prestigious American Ballet Theater School in New York and later received a scholarship from the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. At the age of 14, she was invited to work as a teacher in dance schools, and at the age of 18, she enlisted to the IDF and danced at the Matkal Dance Company. During her military service, Boomer was invited to form a local dance group in Rishon Lezion. Nadine called the company Body Rhythm (Ketzev Haguf) and about 4 years later she opened the Body Rhythm Studio in Rishon LeZion, which is still acclaimed and successful all over the country.
Nadine chose to leverage her artistic endeavors in dance and established the Academy of Dance for outstanding students. Further on, she also formed the Nadine Boomer Dance Group participated by the outstanding graduates of the academy. The Dance Group and the Academy received state recognition from the State of Israel and the Ministry of Culture. Owing to its great uniqueness and the innovation that the animato dance art style brings, Nadine has achieved national and international success and in a variety of awards and accolades.
In 2014, Boomer was invited to establish a dance academy and dance group in New York, USA. Her unique style of animato dance art is currently taught at Nadine-Animato Dance House in Rishon Lezion, New York, Germany, and in about 11 different schools throughout Israel.
Animato workshops are conducted around the world.
