About the author
Born 1980. Graduated with an MA in Choreography from Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Currently performing and touring with her work “Esters”, premiered November 2019 at Curtain Up festival. Schedule to premier a new original dance piece in 2020 for the Batsheva Ensemble, as part of the Grilanda events.
She was a dancer, rehearsal manager, teacher and special project manager at the Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, locally and internationally.
Talia created and set up performances for The Naomi Perlov and Ofir Dagan dancers’ training program, Ga’aton Workshop, Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance Ensemble, Dance Department students at Franklin & Marshall university, Pennsylvania, the United States, Dance Department at Rutgers, New Jersey and Dance Department at Kansas University, Kansas.
Beck also creates for theater, and worked with Gesher Theater, The Cameri Theater, Orna Porat Children’s Theater and Beer sheva Theater.
In the fall of 2013, she was chosen by The Schusterman Foundation to take part in the Visiting Artist Program, through which she was a guest teacher and choreographer at The University of Kansas (US).
Created the dance works: “Esters” (2019) “Colonia” (2018) “Shuli” (marginal) (2017), “The Botany of Desire” (2013), “W” (2016) “MA’ATZAMA” (superpower) 2010, “Saudade” (2009).
As a dancer she collaborated with: Vertigo Dance Company, choreographer Bruno Listopad (The Netherlands-Portugal), Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, Yasmeen Godder Dance Company, Roy Assaf, Ella Rothschild, Yossi Berg and Oded Graf, Netta Yerushalmy, Noa Dar and more.
Winner of the 2010 Ministry of Culture Young Choreographer Award.
Education
Graduated with an MA in Choreography from Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Studied for a BA in Philosophy at the Multidisciplinary in Arts program, graduated from Thelma Yellin high school for the performing arts.
Workshops
Runs Repertoire workshops (her work and the works of Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak), Improvisation, Artist Master Class and Theater Dance. Together with Zvi Fishzon she conducted theater dance workshops “Between the concrete and the abstract”.
Stage Arrangement
Talia arranged works from the Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak repertoire with world-renowned companies such as: Introdans Dance Company, The Netherlands, Théâtre du Capitole, France, and more.
