Ella Rothschild, born 1984, choreographer, multi-disciplinary Artists and dancer. Rothschild danced at the Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company and Batsheva Dance Company under artistic director Ohad Naharin. Currently Rothschild dances at Kidd Pivot Dance Company under direction of choreographer Crystal Pite. 

Since 2006, Rothschild became a choreographer, collaborating with various artists from different disciplines. Her works combine dance, visual art and music. 

Rothschild was awarded the 2013 Dudu Dotan award for best performance by a dancer. In 2016 she was awarded the “Rosenblum Stage Performance” for promising choreographer of the year. Also, in 2016, she received an award from the Ministry of Culture for 10 years of creation. In 2017 she was awarded “Best Solo Performer of the Year” from the Ministry of Culture. 

Among her dance works: “Acord”, “12 Postdated Checks”, “Judah, Christ with Soy “, “Flood”, “Basket”, “IMO the Mouth is Redundant”.  In 2018 she created “Feed” for a Brazilian Company part of an Israel/Brazil project, “Timeline” for BTT dance company in Italy.   

In 2019 Rothchild created “Futuristic Space”, commissioned and produced by Red Brick Theater in Yokohama, Japan. This year Rothchild became a resident artist at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, and was chosen for the first of its kind residency program at Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater.  As part of the residencies Rothchild is working on her new work, due to premier in June 2020 at the Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater.

2019  – Grant from the Lottery Art Council – Mifal HaPayis for the creation “IMO the Mouth is Redundant”.

2017  – The Israeli Ministry of Culture Award for the best solo performer for 2017.

2017  – Grant from the Lottery Art Council – Mifal HaPayis for the creation of “12 Postdated Checks”

2016  – Rosenblum Performing Arts Award by the city of Tel Aviv for the promising creator of 2016.

2016   – Artist in Residence at Kelim | Choreography

2016  – Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation and Tel-Aviv city hall for the special site-specific project “Flood.”

2016  – Schusterman grant – a grant for creation and four-month residency at Howard University in Washington.

2016  – The Israeli Minister of Culture Award for 10 years of creation.
