About the author
Tamar Lamm, born 1972, dancer and dance photographer, danced at the Eric Hawkins Company in New York and studied with Zvi Gotheiner. In Israel she worked with Yasmeen Godder, Iris Erez, Tamar Borer, Ari Teperberg, itzik Giuli and Eyal Weiser.
David Kern, born in New Orleans 1959. In 1981 he joined the Sun Francisco Ballet Company as a certified dancer. In 1986 he met William Forsythe that invited him to join his company in Frankfurt. Ten years later he moved to Paris and started working as an independent choreographer. In 2005 he returned to work with Forsythe. Since 2015, he lives and creates in Israel.
Tamar and David first worked together in 1998 in Paris. 16 years later they met again and started their mutual life and creation. They since created the following works:
“Because We Love You”- Dance Ring Festival, 2016.
“Dog Walkers” – Dance Ring Festival, 2017.
“At the Foot of the Vanishing Table” – Curtain Up, 2018.
“History was Written by the Losers” – featuring dancer and choreographer Tilman O’Donnell, 2019.
Dance Photography
Tamar Lamm spent her childhood at her dad’s studio, fashion photographer Ben Lamm.
She is one of Israel’s notable Dance photographer. Her photographs were displayed at collective and single exhibitions at Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Petach Tikva Museum of Art, Tel Aviv Artists house, Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater, WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education and more.
She has been documenting the works of Yasmeen Godder since 2000 and photographs for many independent creators, companies and various dance festivals.
