Choreographer, dancer, artistic director and dance instructor.
Since 2000 works as an independent choreographer. Odelia initiates may collaboration with institutes and various artist such as: “Godlike” (Sweden and Israel), Visual artists Roiy Nitzan, musician Sagi Tzoref, “Transit Dance” organization in Australia, Egomio theater in Cyprus, Neve Schechter center for contemporary Jewish Culture and Art, the Israel Museum and more. Her work have been performed on various stages locally and internationally such as Suzanne Dellal, Tmu-na Theatre, Ha’zira Theater Jerusalem, Hama’abada Center for Art, Khan Theatre, Beit Mazia Le-Teatron, Hakarnaf Theater, The Visual Theater, Arab-Jewish Community Center, the Kibbutzim College of Education, Der Berliner Festspiele in Berlin, Egomio theater in Cyprus, “Transit Dance” in Australia and various spaces in Stockholm, Halsingborg, Guttenberg in Sweden and more.
Winner of the 2008 Ministry of Culture award for up and coming choreographer, awarded the 1995 up and coming Dancer Grant from the America-Israel Culture Foundation, and Excellency in Choreography grants (2001, 2003, 2007) scholarship by the Sonia Grodzensky Foundation (2003) Mayor of Jerusalem grant for honorary student (2003) the Rabinovitch Foundation Creative Support Grant (2007, 2015, 2016, 2019) Mifal HaPayis (Lottery art council) Art Grant for a new work (2007, 2014, 2016, 2019) Tel Aviv Municipality support (2015, 2019), winner of 2014 People’s Choice work support at the “Diablog” competition.
Supported as a choreographer by the Cultural Administration circa 2006-2018 and a member of the Choreographers’ Association.
Artistic director of the Shades in Dance Festival, Suzanne Dellal center (2015, 2017).
Kuperberg initiated and formed the Dancers’ Union at the Israeli Artists Union.
As a movement designer, she worked with numerous directors and theaters such as: Tamara (“Dear Balack”) Beit Lessin Theater (“Sunrise”, “Live”,) Anatot theater, house of Gefen, Haifa (“L’Avare”, by Molière, “Thorn”, “Something else”) Hama’abada theater Jerusalem (“Gviyotai and Rabotai”) and more. Played at “Love in Lower Winter” by Yossi Israeli. A lecturer at the Aviv university, theatre program, “Actor’s Movement” course. Teaches dance, focusing on composition, contemporary dance, technique, and work repertoire at colleges and high schools such as Thelma Yelin high school, Ironi Aleph high school, the Kibbutzim College of Education, Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance, and more.
Since 2010, she has developed and teaches a new method, combining a technique for non-dancers as means for personal development.
Initiated and developed the professional dance courses for the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem. Guided groups of beginner creators in Jaffa.
Initiated and developed dance programs in high schools around the country (Hadasim, Harel, Mevaset tzion). Independently hosting workshops and sessions for creators’ group.
Odelia is socially and artistically active, locally and internationally. Her contribution in her work and her initiated projects to promote Artistic Dance into mainstream audience is vast.
